Frequently Asked Questions
Technical specifications, safety standards, customization options, and logistics compliance for UAV semi-solid state battery solutions.
1. Battery Technology & Flight Performance
Key questions regarding energy density, chemistry variants, discharge/charge rates, and operating temperatures.
Our semi-solid state battery cells achieve 280 to 440 Wh/kg at the pouch cell level, depending on chemistry (including High-Nickel Si-C, Mid-Ni NMC, and NMC-LCO). At the pack integration level, practical energy density spans 230 to 290+ Wh/kg depending on thermal management, enclosure ruggedness, and BMS telemetry requirements. Compared to standard 4.2V/4.35V LiPo batteries (typically 180–220 Wh/kg), this yields a 35% to 50%+ extension in airborne flight endurance under identical UAV takeoff weight limits.
Our drone battery platforms are divided into high-energy-density long-endurance series (3C–5C continuous, 5C–10C burst) and high-discharge series (7C–10C continuous, with instant peak bursts up to 25C–30C for 3 to 10 seconds). This ensures dependable power delivery for high-thrust vertical takeoff, aggressive wind-resistance counter-thrust, and emergency climbing maneuvers.
Standard semi-solid packs support 0.5C to 1C normal charging for optimal cycle longevity. For mission-critical commercial workflows (such as agricultural spraying or corridor mapping), our fast-charge cell variants support up to 2C to 3C charging, replenishing 20% to 80% State of Charge (SOC) in approximately 18–25 minutes when paired with temperature-controlled charging stations.
Our standard operational temperature range is 0°C to +45°C for charging, and -20°C to +60°C for discharge. Benefiting from our solid-liquid hybrid electrolyte and high ionic conductivity, discharge capacity retention exceeds 80% at -20°C with stable voltage output, preventing sudden voltage dropouts in winter survey missions. For arctic or high-altitude operations below -20°C, self-heating BMS pads or specialized wide-temperature formulations are available upon request.
Cycle life depends on duty cycle and discharge severity. Under typical commercial drone operations (0.5C charge / 2C–3C discharge at 25°C), our packs deliver 300 to 500 complete cycles to 70%–80% remaining capacity. For moderate cruising duty (such as pipeline surveillance or fixed-wing patrol), our long-cycle cell variants deliver 500 to 800+ cycles when adhering to recommended 20%–90% SOC operating guidelines.
2. Safety Standards, Testing & BMS
Information on cell structural safety, puncture resistance, and smart battery management.
Conventional LiPo batteries use volatile organic liquid solvents that easily vaporize and catch fire upon mechanical puncture or overcharging. Our semi-solid architecture replaces bulk volatile liquids with a solid polymer-gel network and ceramic-coated high-temperature separators. In standard nail penetration, crush, and overcharge safety qualification, the cells suppress thermal runaway propagation with zero open flame or explosion.
Yes. Our battery packs operate on industry-standard voltage architectures (nominal 3.7V/cell or 3.75V/cell, up to 3.95V nominal for specific chemistries), making them fully compatible with standard CC/CV intelligent drone charging systems. Our smart BMS modules provide CANbus, DroneCAN/UAVCAN, SMBus, and UART communication protocols natively supported by open-source autopilots (PX4, ArduPilot) and proprietary industrial flight controllers.
Each integrated battery system features an industrial/automotive-grade Smart BMS providing real-time cell-level voltage monitoring and balancing, multi-point temperature sensing across both cells and power MOSFETs, over-current/over-discharge protections, hardware-level short-circuit isolation, and high-precision State of Charge (SOC) and State of Health (SOH) telemetry output.
3. OEM / ODM & Custom Pack Engineering
Details on custom pack voltages, enclosures, wiring harnesses, lead times, and MOQs.
We provide complete turnkey battery engineering tailored to your airframe mechanical bay and payload power budget: standard platform configurations include 6S, 12S, 14S, and 18S (10Ah to 40Ah+), with higher-voltage series (up to 24S) or multi-parallel packs customizable on demand; custom structural enclosures (flame-retardant UL94-V0 PC/ABS, CNC aviation aluminum, or carbon fiber); terminal connectors (AS150, AS150U, XT90-S anti-spark, QS8, Anderson); and IP65/IP67 environmental ingress sealing.
Following 3D CAD envelope confirmation and electrical specification sign-off, bespoke prototype packs are typically fabricated, tested, and shipped in 15–20 business days. For volume mass production orders, standard lead times range from 3 to 5 weeks depending on custom tooling, batch size, and scheduled production runs.
For initial engineering validation, bench testing, and flight trials, we support prototype sample batches starting from 2 to 4 packs. For bespoke OEM series production involving custom injection tooling, proprietary BMS firmware builds, or custom wire harnesses, standard production MOQ starts at 20–50 packs depending on engineering complexity.
